Bobby Jones 'The Legend'Robert Tyre Jones is widely considered the greatest amateur golfer of all time.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1902 and named after his paternal grandfather Bobby Jones first picked up a golf club when he was five years old. A precocious talent from a young age he was a junior champion at the
age of nine and he qualified for his first U.S. Open in 1920, aged just
18.
During
his exceptional career Bobby Jones won 13 major championships
concluding in 1930, when he won all 4 major tournaments of that era,
the only Grand Slam in the history of golf.
His achievements paint a picture of one of the greatest sportsmen to have ever lived.
